Every program Edutech 4.0 runs uses one of two apprenticeship-linked degree models with Glocal University. AEDP embeds the apprenticeship inside a new degree for first-time entrants; WILP wraps a degree around an existing job for working learners. Same two rails — work and study — sequenced differently.

AEDP — Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme

AEDP is a University Grants Commission (UGC) model that lets recognised higher education institutions embed a registered apprenticeship directly inside an undergraduate degree — so on-the-job training earns academic credit, not just a line on a CV. Edutech 4.0 delivers AEDP degrees awarded by Glocal University.

What the UGC framework specifies

  • Tripartite agreement: a formal contract binds the institution, the industry/establishment, and the student — each with defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Apprenticeship inside the degree: on-the-job training can begin from the second semester and count for up to 50% of the degree duration, with a minimum of one continuous semester (6 months).
  • Credit by hours (NCrF): apprenticeship credits are awarded by training hours under the National Credit Framework — a full year of apprenticeship equates to at least 40 credits.
  • Stipend-bearing: apprentices may receive a stipend where the AEDP runs through NATS or the Apprentices Act, 1961.
  • Multiple Entry & Multiple Exit: learners can exit with a certificate, diploma or degree at defined stages and re-enter later.
  • Joint evaluation: progress is assessed by industry professionals, faculty mentors and the institution together.

How an AEDP term is structured

Academic block

Core and elective coursework delivered by Glocal University faculty, on-campus or blended.

Apprenticeship block

A registered NAPS/NATS placement with an Edutech 4.0 employer partner, in the same trade as the term’s coursework.

Joint assessment

Academic examinations plus an employer-signed competency evaluation, both feeding the final transcript.

Stipend & credit

Apprenticeship blocks are stipended per scheme norms and mapped to NCrF credits toward the degree.

WORK TRACK · WORKING LEARNERS

WILP — Work Integrated Learning Programme

WILP is the recognised model for earning a degree while employed. It is built for someone already on the work track — a working apprentice, an employed professional, or an employer-sponsored candidate — who needs a Glocal University degree that fits around confirmed work hours rather than the other way around.

How WILP works

  • Work-first sequencing: work hours are fixed first; academic delivery is scheduled around them through weekend, evening or blended online sessions.
  • Workplace as a live lab: because the learner works in a relevant industry, the job itself is the practical component — coursework is applied directly at work.
  • Work-as-credit: verified job responsibilities and NAPS/NATS apprenticeship logs are mapped to academic credit wherever the trade aligns, with employer sign-off each term.
  • No income disruption: learners keep their salary or apprenticeship stipend throughout the degree.
  • Recognised degree: a WILP degree from a UGC/AICTE-recognised university carries the same academic value as a regular full-time degree.
